Author Derek E. Keeling's new book Nomad's Island will be released soon.

Author of the novel The Umbras is set to release his second novel, Nomad's Island, which is loosely based on a failed trip to Hawaii.


The new novel, Nomad's Island from Derek E. Keeling, will have element of adventure, mystery, romance, and even horror.


The synopsis of Derek E. Keeling's new novel, Nomad's Island, is:


What was lost, has been found. For Damon, his grand adventure is being alone on an island. His plan was simple: fly to a deserted island for a month, hone his survival skills, and return home. Unfortunately, on the way, his plane crashes and leaves him alone on an island with no chance of help or rescue. Damon must use his skills to survive, but something watching him from the jungle's edge seems to enjoy his failures. Damon's fight for survival doesn't come easy in this action-packed adventure that will leave you breathless. With twists and turns that will keep you guessing, take a trip with Damon to a ruthless place where life struggles to survive and eyes stalk your every move. Will Damon adapt? Or will the unknown entity in the jungle become his biggest threat?


Nomad's Island will be released on Saturday, March 2, 2019. The author, Derek E. Keeling, will also be holding a book release party for Nomad's Island on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Broadway Coffeehouse. Attendees will be able to buy copies of Nomad's Island, get them signed, listen to a reading, participate in a Q&A, and more.

Thank you so much, yokeld7. I appreciate the compliment. Kauai was such a beautiful place. I just had a bad experience there. Thankfully, and as you mentioned, I turned that situation into something that, in my opinion, is worthwhile and that I can be proud of. Writing is such a great way to free the soul and I am glad that it has the same effect on you as it does to me. Be well.

I've been writing since I can remember as well. My family recalls calling me "bookworm," four eyes" etc. much to my mature chagrin. But I've used my skills to show them a thing or two. I love Kauai Island. I actually saw many long haired hippie types especially in Kapa' a while getting the local snow cone treat. Writing frees my soul and imagination and has become my "happy place" to go to hide. I applaud you for taking that lemon of an idea to make your lemonade. I'll be a fan...
